Doug Boston, founder and president of Cyan Financial in Mount Pleasant, has been named chief financial officer for the Charleston County Aviation Authority, owner and operator of Charleston International Airport, Mount Pleasant Regional Airport and Charleston Executive Airport.

Boston has 28 years of business leadership experience and 15 years of experience as a chief financial officer for a variety of companies, including PeopLease in Mount Pleasant, The Plus Group and Courtesy Distributors, both in Lombard, Ill. He founded Cyan Financial to provide financial, accounting and professional employer organization services along with merger, acquisition and divestiture assistance to businesses.
The Aviation Authority chief financial officer is responsible for overseeing and directing the organization’s financial goals, objectives and budgets with executive oversight of information systems and ground transportation departments.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Boston earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and computer science from Oakton College in Des Plaines, Illinois, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University. He is a certified public accountant and a mentor for MBA program at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.
Boston replaces Phil Wilson who has served as interim CFO since March 2016. Boston will start work on Aug. 8.
