This is the third in a series of Project Spotlight features on the new food and beverage concessions coming to Charleston International Airport with the construction.
Charleston Beer works, Upper King Street’s original brewpub and sports bar in downtown Charleston, is coming to Charleston International Airport.
With 30 different beers from which to choose, a full menu of spirits and wine, and fresh and delicious food items and plenty of sports on TV, travelers can relax, eat and enjoy a game while waiting for their flight. A stop at Charleston Beer Works in the airport will afford travelers an opportunity to enjoy a downtown Charleston icon whether they are arriving or departing.
The in-the-round bar will be located on Concourse A. Since nearly all the restaurants will be post-security in the renovated airport, even passengers flying out of Concourse B will be able to take advantage of Charleston Beer Works. There will be unlimited movement between concourses once passengers go through security.
Charleston Beer Works is a South Carolina original and represents the vibrancy of downtown Charleston. The welcoming design of the original brew pub and sports bar will be a favored meeting place and the classic menu will be a hit with travelers.
As its name would suggest, the beer menu is extensive from import and national brands to craft brews, including eight Lowcountry brands featured on a rotating basis in bottles and on draft. In addition to beer, Charleston Beer Works will have a full menu, including pub style food, soups, sandwiches, wings, chicken and a kid’s menu. For travelers interested in carryout, packaging for Charleston Beer Works’ to-go items will include liners made from 100 percent recycled materials, recyclable plastic containers and paper boxes.
Under the direction of owner Tim Maahs and his partners, the look and feel of Charleston Beer Works at CHS will be casual, comfortable and gives a nod to the colors and materials associated with beer and brewing. Warm earthy tones, lots of Lowcountry personality and a terrific menu will have travelers looking for Charleston Beer Works every time they are at the airport.
