Three down and 12 more to go. Jet bridges, that is.
This month the third of our 15 new jet bridges was installed at Gate B1. New jet bridges were previously installed at Gate B2 and B4. It will be several more weeks before other jet bridges are installed and all will be timed with construction under way on Concourse B and the renovation in 2015 of Concourse A.
As part of the $189 million Terminal Redevelopment and Improvement Program (TRIP), CHS is growing from 10 to 15 gates. The five additional gates are being added to Concourse B, home to American, JetBlue, Southwest and, US Airways. The concourse will be reconfigured to house odd number gates on one side of the concourse and even numbered gates on the other side. A central hallway will make it easier for passengers to enter and leave the passenger boarding lounges.
