Lanes to close for construction

Construction in front of the airport will result in temporary lane closures starting on Monday, January 25.

The center median and sidewalk will be demolished and repaved. The construction also includes the installation of improved outdoor lighting and underground cables to support a new taxi stand and new valet booth. The work will be completed in phases over the next 10 weeks.

Work will begin Monday in front of the ticketing drop off. Barricades will block two lanes of traffic on either side of the center median.

For pedestrian safety, motorists are asked to observe the 25 mph speed limit leading up to the terminal and to slow down, obeying all stop signs in front of the drop off and pick up areas. Signs will direct pedestrians to safe paths to and from the terminal.

The first phase of work will take place Jan. 25 through Feb. 5 and will extend from the ticketing end of the terminal to the first pedestrian crosswalk. The second phase Feb. 12 through March 11 will encompass an area between the ticketing and baggage claim covered crosswalks. The last phase extends from baggage claim to the Rental Car Pavilion between March 14 and 31.
