Chief Financial Officer Judith Olmstead has been elected to serve as the 2015-2016 president of the Southeastern Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives. Olmstead will assume her new role in July.
Olmstead has been with the Charleston County Aviation Authority, which owns and operates two general aviation airports in addition to Charleston International Airport, since January 2001. Before relocating to Charleston and joining CHS, she was employed by various healthcare systems in Connecticut.
Olmstead has a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in accounting from Bryant University in North Smithfield, R.I., and a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Haven in Connecticut. An Accredited Airport Executive, Olmstead is past chairman of the national AAAE Finance and Administration Committee.
The Southeast chapter is the largest chapter of airport executives with more than 450 members and growing. The chapter represents the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, plus the Virgin Islands and several South American countries.
As president of the AAAE chapter for the southeast, Olmstead will be responsible for supporting the chapter’s vision, mission and goals and will oversee board meetings, the annual budget and audit preparation, scholarship awards and chapter policy reviews.
