Jim Woods

Jim Woods is a Charleston native who grew up on Sullivan’s Island. He began his law enforcement career with the South Carolina Highway Patrol in 1982, serving in Calhoun County and later in Summerville, where he has resided since 1985.

With 44 years of experience, Chief Woods has been with the Aviation Authority for 14 months. He is a certified Law Enforcement Officer, having completed training at the SC Criminal Justice Academy, the SC Highway Patrol Academy, and the FBI National Academy, along with numerous other certifications.
